Nothing can spoil the appearance of your pool like a stain. Most stains are
caused by metals that were once dissolved in your water but have fallen out on
your pool surface. The two most common stains are caused by copper or iron but
the treatment for these two stains are not alike. This is why it is important to
identify which type of stain you have before you start treating the stain.
Follow-Up Maintenance:
In order to completely remove the metals that caused the staining, it is
important to use all components of the stain removal system. Metals must be
physically removed from the water or the same metals that were lifted from your
pool surface could re-stain your pool.
Pool Magnet Plus to keep metals in solution and prevent future staining as
well as remove fresh stains. Used on a maintenance basis when metals are present
in fill water. Scale Inhibitor to prevent minerals in the water from reacting
and causing scale deposits or staining.
Use
Scale Inhibitor in place of Pool Magnet Plus when calcium hardness level is
above 300ppm.
You may also use
Sparkle Up to act as a filter aid by coating the filter media and helping
remove the metals from the water. Sparkle Up is a cellulose-based filter media
that is specially charged to attract metals. Sparkle Up can also be used to help
remove metals from fill water prior to their entering the pool. Add Sparkle Up
to the filter, then add make-up water through the skimmer.
